1. Please introduce yourself.: snail. or muffin. but i've been thinking of getting a new internet alias. nothing's sticking out to me, sadly
2. How long have you been making websites?: uhhhh... does messing with tumblr themes count? if so, since... yeesh, 2014
3. And what got you into the hobby?: seeing budding gay furry serie on tumblr use different themes
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?: not sure. i circle between the same couple sites. petsites, a friend's oc site, neocities
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?: i need a direction to go in. then, i usually write out on paper what i want to do with a part of the site, and try to implement it........ often asking for help
6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.: i assume this is in terms of websites... the wishbonegame and kahbookoodoh blogs on tumblr. no clue if those blogs are still around
marvin over at numbersstory has been a huge help and inspiration for this Webbed Site Thing :+)
7. What's your favourite part about making websites?: being able to show off the finished results to people. mmmm validation for my work
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?: ... actually implementing things. i still struggle with how to code and whatnot
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?: i keep it consistent for the most part
10. How confident are you with CSS?: i... can... change colors?
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?: ... i cheated, i looked at what it meant. sue me
12. What is your favourite HTML element?: the humble p tag
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?: slap a template page on it
14. Do you know JavaScript?: used to.

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?: my oc... headspace thing
17. Are you more focused on content or design?: it's hard to get the actual Meat (content) down. i need to be in the right mindset at the right time. sigh
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?: no, but i'd like to own a domain name for paracosia
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?: i'm endeared
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?: it... should be?
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?: neat little things
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?: (marge simpson voice) i just think they're neat
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?: something similar. i'm predictable
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?: not Envious, but i'm wondering more about their abilities to get The Meat of their sites down
25. What text editor do you use?: neocities' built in editor
26. Why do you use that one?: i've grown used to it
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?: my web server, for now
28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?: i have a nekoweb, but i'm just more used to neocities
29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?: according to the editor it says the site uses 200+mb of bandwidth this month
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?: i do, yes
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?: not sure. i wanna say i'm a keep it simple kinda person
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?: main site is Ourple. i like Ourple :+)
but other sections (see the paragon) have different schemes to match their themes
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?: not really
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?: hi marvin
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?: a few friends in real life know about it, but i don't think they've checked at all. my best friend though, i use them as a guinea pig to test things, and they've for sure read enough to be able to give me gentle nudges in the right direction
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?: i'd say often? at least a couple times a day
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?: not really. if it ain't broke don't fix it
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?: i guess more me-focused? ocs are me-focused right
39. Do you do web design professionally?: fuck no i can barely get javascript working without making goddamn typos
40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?: if i can actually program something i Guess. i dunno. maybe not. im a NEET

42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?: only for real life friend stuff, and to send my best friend posts of rabbits
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?: discord; it's my main way of talking to people. that being said i get skittish unless i'm talking to my buddies
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?: yes, sometimes it helps me get in the ~mood~. mostly composers for ryukishi's works, ridiculon, things that were on the radio years ago, but i would like to say my taste is quite varied
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?: just one for now
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?: paracosia Is the main topic
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?: um. well. my real self is represented through paracosia, but i don't really let others know the Real Me? like i don't like divulging into my personal life, especially online. so i guess it's a bit of column a and column b. paracosia is my heart on my sleeve, but i don't want anyone to know me asides from that
48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?: not Because of my website no
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?: they work enough i guess
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?: iunno i'm a Babby at coding
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?: i'm scare
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?: a generic structure?

54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.: firefox. i'm no good at convincing others, i just use it since it still has the extensions i use

56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?: i hate windows 11's feel. i don't like getting generative "ai" shoved down my throat, or getting tracked
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?: i wish it was, but i think i'd prefer if people check the site on their desktop or whatever

76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?: does tumblr count? if not i did have a webdev class in high school

How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?: not really, i mostly bookmark commissions i get. sue me, i'm selfish. but to be fair i don't have a need to bookmark since i kinda gain muscle memory for what sites i check out? i'd be honored if someone Did bookmark mine. i think.

What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?: by the number of ocs i have that are fleshed out, and appreciate that they're their own people--and not just see them in a comedic, meme-y light. i know i did this to myself but it sucks not having my works taken seriously
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?: eh. not really. i don't like the direction tech's going in nowadays, it turns me off

90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?: like the sadgrl layout? because that's what i use

92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?: not As much. i used to poke around flight rising forums but ehhhhh. i oughta get back into that
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?: directly in the editor, or in notepad++ if it's page meat. if it's prose, it's in a shared document between my bestie and me
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?: my best friend tells me i'm cool, and that's what matters
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?: i have deleted old fandom shit out of shame. same with the tumblr blog i used to have in high school
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?: i dunno... i guess leave an archive? not sure.
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?: with regards to stuff outside of paracosia, i don't like to reveal a lot. i'm more secretive
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?: i have a best friend irl... do they count? it's zetyr. they've been with me through dark days, and i feel the most comfortable talking to them. they don't have a website though.
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?: only the images i get from other people. i saw very quickly why my friend marvin made a second site for his character stuff
