1. What spells have become a part of modern day culture vs what’s just strictly for combat?
(Using magic Specifically here since it’s more disparaged)
No one type of magic is Only for combat or casual purposes. Something typically seen as “destructive” can have practical or recreational uses. The inverse can apply to more uh… how do I word this. Magic typically seen in a positive light? It is up to the user themselves how they utilize it
e.g. Explosion magic. Folks like Ringmaster Mirabelle or Chancellor Ethan only see it as something violent, something they can exploit to defend themselves from dissenters. It can be used to create art (a la that one artist who creates portraits using fire. I will have to scour through tumblr likes at some point to find it)
e.g. Healing magic. Typically only thought of in a medical, positive context, can be used in combat (See: Noi from Dorohedoro)

2. Does all magic come from one source or are there multiple ways to access it?
It's a little bit of both? Well, the gods bestowed their respective gifts. There is also magic runoff from spats, which affected the land, water, wherever. Minerals, plants, fungi also got imbued with magic, not just other mortals.

3a. What are the Limits of the magic in your world?
Limits of gifts: mortals can only have, at most, two magic types/innate talents.
→ any more Will overload their body and put them at risk for dying
→ having 1 innate talent and 1 type of magic is Very rare; mortals with this do not live long
Not possible for mortals: anything “meta”/reality bending, telepathy, x-ray vision
Possible for mortals: things that involve natural elements (plants, fire, water, etc.), heightened senses

3b. Can someone become a god with it?
LOL!!! no. no mortals have ascended to god status
WRONG!!!! sagrado has technically become a holy figure mortals worship. she Has reached that status. the deities though… she's nothing more than a bag of flesh, isolated for daring to surpass them.

3c. Can someone get better at magic or is what you're born with the best it can get? Can anyone learn magic?
Yes, someone can improve on their al aptitude. It’s like exercising, in that using it frequently Will better your endurance/skills/etc.
And yes, anyone Can learn magic. But it puts so much strain on the body—a countermeasure so no mortal can get Too powerful/surpass the gods. Modern medicine is available to help ease these initial growing pains, or suppress magic aptitude entirely. The enchanted have a Slightly easier time learning completely different types of magic.
