- world renowned chef; head chef of the paragon
- born and raised in nevadeen, living in caveta
- endured a rough upbringing rife with parents getting into shouting matches and running away from home
- struggled with thoughts that the constant fighting was her fault. isolated herself from most people
- when alone she'd use her poison magic on herself
had one friend she didn't leavewe don't talk about him- cooking helped her get out of her shell. it grew to be a way to channel pent up energy
- while visiting esperanza, someone asked kalama for help with their struggling restaurant. despite finding a talented young chef eager to turn things around, renovating the menu, and warning the owner to not slip back to their old ways... the place closed due to their lazy nature. she couldn't let misty's passion for the culinary arts die. so, kalama took misty under her wing
- when paulo visited one of her restaurants and learned of her status, they took note of that. the second they had the Bright Idea of buying a cruise liner, they called kalama up and hired her to take care of the menu
- brought misty along, hoping that her career would take off if she does well. saw potential in her: passionate in the kitchen, and had a good palate
